My guinea pig has sores on his feet and is losing hair on his legs.?

This could be a part of having a wire-bottom cage. Change it out. Otherwise, the pig could have some bunions on its feet. Hair loss is probably barbering. I took my guinea pig to the vet for this and he said that it's because of a lack of hay (timothy or alfalfa). If you give him hay then get him checked out by the vet to make sure he doesn't have mites or lice, etc. Try cleaning the cage a litle more often for a while to see if it helps. At least call the vet to see what he thinks. Good luck to you and your pig! :D

What flooring in your cage do you have? If the bottom of your cage is wire then the sores could be bumble feet. The hairloss on the legs could be barbering, usually another guinea pig does it to another guinea pig but it isn't uncommon for a guinea pig to barber itself. Are you able to get pictures? I would also make an appointment with a professional exotic vet, if your cage does have a wire bottom switch immediatley to a C%26amp;C cage:

Your piggie most likely has bumble foot which is a systemic infection that will kill your piggie if not treated immediately. As for the hair loss, this could be caused by a number of reasons. An experienced vet can make this determination for your when he diagnosises the bumble foot. Again this will kill your piggie if left untreated. As to the cause of the bumble foot there also is a number of reasons, not cleaning your cage often enough (every 3 days depending on size and number of animals), over weight and putting to much pressure on the pads, wrong kind of bedding (pine shavings are highly recommended), and housing on wire all can cause bumble foot. Again please find an experienced vet, specific anti-biotics are deadly so it is important to find the right vet who is familiar with bumble foot and the long treatment there of. Good luck

If you keep your guinea pig on your lawn in a hutch then you should have no problem. They need to graze and the grass isn't going to upset their feet.
