I have a neutered male cat that's losing hair in a distinctive pattern, from it's eyebrows

This cat is 6+yrs old and seems healthy and playful, maintaing it's weight and socializes with 2 other normal cats in the family. The strip of fur(about 2cm wide)on both sides of the head has shed? to the point of bare skin. It is perfectly symmetrical and completely spares the middle top of the head and any other area. This has been progressing over the last 3-4mos. Has anyone experienced this condition in a cat and knows the cause??
