Hey ppl my dog is losing lots of hair...especially during bathing a hand full of hair would be loss....pls help me sorting out this problem ....she is 7 month old...pls tell me wt shud be done...

Hi Chethu , dont worry, she's just losing her coat. It happens about twice a year (sometimes more with dogesses). She will get her new coat in about 8 weeks.

I think thats just what happens at the age of some dogs like shedding baby hair i guess it could be compared to

make surule out mang don't know much about that but bald patches are one of the symptoms, maybe loosing baby fur to be replaced with adult - don't over bath and yse a mild shampoo

Maybe when you take him for a bath and give a little bit of water in it,your dog will not lose hair.

r u giving the bath due to fleas? .....maybe allergic to fleas

BTW young dogs' skin cant handle human shampoo, her skin may dry out and flake

she may have mange. get her checked by a vet. its contagious even to humans

There are many possibilities. Often diet can affect the coat, or your dog could be shedding heavily (what kind of dog--not the right season if you are in the States, but it happens) Are there also any skin issues? Irritation, flaking, etc.?

The best advice is to take your dog to the vet and have him/her advise you. We are not doctors here, just friends. :-)

You didn't say what kind of dog you have, but at 7 months, she could be blowing her puppy coat. Has she been spayed recently (or undergone surgery) as that could be the culprit as well. But, is she is not spayed and has possibly gone thru a heat cycle, that also will cause female to blow their coat.

Be sure you are feeding a good quality food, as I truly believe that has alot to do with the condition of the dogs coat. I have a list on how to 'grade your pets food' and I will copy/paste it in my mailing here...

Have her thyroid levels checked. That is the most common cause of unusual hair loss.

It is possible it might be normal shedding. I would use a shedding blade.
