Is losing alot of hair at 13 ok?

Hair falls out for lots of reasons

-Stress

-Wearing tight hairstyles often

-Certain medications

-Not getting enough vitamins in your diet

etc....

If it keeps happening or gets noticable it's best to talk to your doctor.Certain illnesses can cause your hair to fall out too.

Is losing alot of hair at 13 ok?

it also depends on your diet research it up in the internet

Is losing alot of hair at 13 ok?

sometimes when you constantly have it up in a ponytail or whatever, the hairfollicles snap

its normal to loose about 200 hairs a day, but if you are wearing it up alot, leave it loose when you sleep.

Is losing alot of hair at 13 ok?

dont worry

its just ur hormones.

it happened to me at 13 too, and it still does occasionally (im 14).

itll go back to normal soon.

Is losing alot of hair at 13 ok?

nothing. its genetic. thanks for the two points.

Why am I losing so much hair?

I'm only a 19 year old female with no hair loss in my family, but lately every time I take a shower or brush my hair, lots of it comes out. All my clothes are covered with my own hair and I'm not sure what to do. This has be going on from somewhere between two weeks to a month--I haven't really thought much of it until this morning.

Why am I losing so much hair?

if you have an eating disorder that can cause it. also stress

Why am I losing so much hair?

you may be having a vitamin deficiency. Try taking a daily suppliment.

Why am I losing so much hair?

possibly stress

Why am I losing so much hair?

When I was in boot camp my hair fell out something terrible and it also did it when I was pregnant so it has to be due to stress!

Why am I losing so much hair?

Too much stress?

Why am I losing so much hair?

You lose about 100 hairs per day...this is natural. If you are losing more than that, then I would see your doctor.

Why am I losing so much hair?

Why haven't you called your doctor about it then if this doesn't run in your family?

Did you recently dye your hair, do you use alot of hair products, are you stressed? That could be a reason as well

Why am I losing so much hair?

Could be a hormonal imbalance. I have the same thing. While it's normal to lose some, I have lost more than what should be considered normal. Although, I can't see a doc. If you can, talk to one ASAP. Much luck.

Why am I losing so much hair?

ME TOO! In fact I believe I asked that question on here as well. I notice it the most when I'm taking a shower. So much of it comes out you'd think I was balding. It's kinda scary. Do you have curly/wavy hair? For some reason I shed less when I straighten my hair. Also, is your hair long? That could have something to do with it as well. Try to remember to take your vitamins and stay healthy.

Why am I losing so much hair?

If you are stressed, you will shed. I tho't I would go bald while taking real estate classes, once I passed the state test, the hair loss stopped... Stress makes me shed.... check your stress level...holidays are stressful for some people.

Why am I losing so much hair?

SEE A DOCTOR. You may have a medical problem of which acute hair loss is a symptom. If you are gaining weight and are really sleepy all the time, it could be hypothyroidism ... or an eating disorder can cause hair loss, or diabetes can in some people ... so SEE A DOCTOR as soon as you can!

Why am I losing so much hair?

My girlfriend looses tons of hair, she is 22 and has no hairloss in her family. I wouldn't worry about it, but if you are concerned, you can ask your doctor about it at your next checkup. It is natural to shed, don't worry about it too much.

Why am I losing so much hair?

PERHAPS STRESS OR THYROID

Why am I losing so much hair?

dont use to much shampoo or conditioner.

Why am I losing so much hair?

i heard certain cancer can make you lose hair

hopefully you don't have it though

it may be your shampoo

is it pantene?

because pantene causes hair to fall out

since it has strong ingredients

get it checked with your doctor

hope everything goes well

Why am I losing so much hair?

Hair loss can come from stress or an unhealthy diet. If you are worried then you should go see a dermatologist and they can help you and narrow down what might be causing your hair loss. Your body might be lacking something. Good luck...and try not to worry.

Why am I losing so much hair?

scientists(sp) say women lose up to 100 strands a day, somtimes more. Stress can cause it also. I wouldnt worry to much unless you can noticably see bald spots on your head. Then you should definitly call your doctor. I have tons of hair in the shower drain I have to clean out after I shower. Im 25 and havent gone bald yet.

Why am I losing so much hair?

either you have split ends and need to get it cut or are you possibly anorexic? if so, thats the problem. split ends break very easily. emphasis on easy

Why am I losing so much hair?

Are you on any medications? If yes....check online for side effects. I have heard about hair loss as a side effect for some prescriptions meds. It wouldn't hurt to see your doctor and ask about what he/she thinks it could be from. Do you have bald spots or areas of thinning? If so....I would definetely call your doctor.

Good Luck

Why am I losing so much hair?

how serious is it? Is your hair noticably thinner? I had the same problem, went to the doctor and found out I had iron deficiency. Dyeing your hair or bleaching it often enough can also do this to hair. Hormonal changes, diet changes and winter can also effect this hair loss problem.

Do you have any more problems that you have noticed lately, like in the past few months? I will check back on your question and try to answer it properly if you are able to elaborate on anything else occuring

Why am I losing so much hair?

Maybe you are used to eat not with the right order or it's cause of too much stress.

Why am I losing so much hair?

The most likely cause is not enough protein in the diet. Extreme stress coupled with low biotin can definitely cause hair loss. See a dermatologist for treatment...it's something they deal with all the time.

Why am I losing so much hair?

I have had the same thing happen to me, a couple of times. It could be a vitamin deficiency. So long as it's not falling out in chunks causing bald spots then I'm sure it will stop on it's own.

Why am I losing so much hair?

have you been stressed out lately?....have you been straightening your hair? if so, maybe it could be that you are frying your hair...or it could be your shampoo or conditioner. the bottom line is...you need hairapy. lol

no...ummm...maybe you are brushing too hard and are tearing your hair out. be a little more gentle with your hair if you want it to last. it could also be the quality of your hair. ya know, dying your hair...then again, it could be something in your diet. well sorry that's all i got and good luck with fixing the hair loss. i'd suggest seeing a doctor as soon as possible, before you lose any more hair.

Why am I losing so much hair?

ok hun, first rule of taking good hair care is DO NOT BRUSH YOUR HAIR WHEN IT IS WET NO MATTER THE SITUATION!!

your hairs week point is when its wet, and if you brush it when it is wet, you will break it and damage the roots etc.

second make sure you are not using conditioner on your scalp. when you use conditioner, tie your hair in a pony tail, and that is how you know what part of your hair to use conditioner on. make sure your shampoo doesnt have any harmfull substances of course, and finaly i would suggest you check up with a hair proffesionalist. The sooner you find out whats going on the better. Who knows, maybe you are one of those few women who start hair loss in their early age, so get a checkup just in case.

p.s. dont use shampoo on the rest of your hair besides the hair on your scalp! it breaks the hairs!

Why am I losing so much hair?

Have you been stressing about anything? Have you changed your diet? Your suppose to lose exactly 100 strand per day! Have you had your ends cut? I have been going through the same thing, I bought this stuff called nutri-nex, its a treatment for your scalp that helps when its thinning or falling out. I've been using it for a month and it works GREAT. My hair still sheds, but its not thinning and its thicker- EVERYTHING will be OK!

Why am I losing so much hair?

It is natural to lose a small amount of hair in the daily grooming process. If it is substantially more than usual, look for the offending factor. What have you changed recently? Shampoo, conditioner, body lotions, and take a very close look at your diet and medications..especially birth control meds. I've been a licensed hairdresser for over 30 years, it is usually something simple that you have overlooked. Don't panic but agressively examine everything you take into your system that is different now. Everything you take in affects your hair. Stress is also a determining factor, everything in your life in check? Good luck.

Why am I losing so much hair?

I have long natural curly hair, and I'm surprised that I'm not bald yet.. I have to clean out the drains after a shower and two brushes every day, I use to be a hair puller as a self harm behavior, could be that for me, but stress, pregnancy, eating disorders, lack of vitamins etc.. it could be almost anything.. get it checked by a doctor if you don't fall under any of these categories.. Good Luck

Why am I losing so much hair?

Do you work anywhere near an x-ray machine? What, (if anything) has changed in your diet?

Losing my red hair and its going blond how can i get it back?

Im 15 and i have this one spot on my head were it is starting to go blond i dont know why and my hair is as red as a cherry but people been saying that it has goten more blond and that it is spreding how can i treat it or at lease stop it.

lol because the ladys love my red lol

Losing my red hair and its going blond how can i get it back?

Goshh i envy you so much ! id love for people to love my redhair ! there are a couple of guys i know that adore it but thats it ! just 2 of them !! and perhaps and easy wash dye ? becareful picking the colour though !

Losing my red hair and its going blond how can i get it back?

dye it.

Losing my red hair and its going blond how can i get it back?

Dye It In A Professional Hairdresser's

Losing my red hair and its going blond how can i get it back?

Color rinses are not as drastic as dyes--- but do a few test strands before a big patch of hair to make sure the color matches. Hair color changes pretty much throughout life. My husband was a ginger,it went copper, then dark blonde, then pewter and gray. Red hair is sun and chemical sensitive so you may want to wear a cap outside.

Losing my red hair and its going blond how can i get it back?

If the blond spot is on top of your head, it could be the result of natural sun bleaching. If that is the case, then wearing some kind of hat as protection from the sun will help. If it is biological, then dyeing your spot red is the only solution.

Losing my red hair and its going blond how can i get it back?

Losing some hair when brushing, is this normal?

I'm a male, 16. I have long hair, a little past my shoulders. My daily routine for taking care of my hair is I shower, Shampoo+Condition lightly every other day. On the day I don't shampoo+condition, I don't put anything in my hair. Than when I get out of the shower, I sit on my computer chair and go on my computer, while a fan behind me hits my hair and drys it faster. While its drying, I run my fingers through it to untangle it, but I do it lightly. Sometimes strands come out, but not often %26amp; not many. Than when its close to being dry, I finish untangling it, and brush it into place.

Lately, I've noticed when I brush my hair, single strands of hair come out and stick in the brush.. Is this normal? My hair seems fine on the outside, and I take care of it. I never dye it, or do anything that I know is gonna damage it. The only thing I do sometimes Is over condition it. For example, I might Shampoo+Condition it 2 or 3 days in a row. I try to avoid that though. Is my hair gonna be fine?

Losing some hair when brushing, is this normal?

yes, humans can lose up to 100 hairs a day. its normal.

Losing some hair when brushing, is this normal?

yes very normal you have nothing to worry about!!!!

Losing some hair when brushing, is this normal?

of course its normal! every1 loses like 30-60 hairs a day but dont worry it leaves like 100 new hair!

Losing some hair when brushing, is this normal?

Its totally ok. people are supposed to loose like 80 hairs a day. it happens to me all the time, and its not really good to wash your hair everyday because it gets really dried out and it doesnt have time to produce its natural oils. i wash my hair every other day ( dont worry, i wash my body ever day... im clean! ) lol%26lt;:o) dont panic your not an alien... its perfectly normal good luck!

Is there a possibility of losing my curly hair?

My parents agree that I need to get a haircut. It's pretty long, well past my shoulders now. I want to get it cut a sort of longer type of Han Solo hair-do and I'm dreading it won't work because my hair was really curly at that length. But now I've been growing my hair for several years now and it actually stays pretty straight because of the weight of my hair. Is it possible that my curly hair will be gone if i cut it because of time and the weight of my long hair pulling it straight for a few years? I just don't want to have to spend a lot of my time and have to straighten everyday. My hair isn't the "cute" type of curly either. It was thick and always lopsided when I was in the process of growing my hair out.

Is there a possibility of losing my curly hair?

well, juss get it cut and get a perm/relaxer to keep it straight so you wont have to straighten it everyday. *if your thinking of having a perm in,try not to scratch your head a few days in advance.

Is there a possibility of losing my curly hair?

It'll get curly again. I have the same type of hair %26amp; the same thing happens to me (hair is short and wavy/frizzyish, grows out %26amp; straightens, and I think it'll stay straighter when I cut it, but it never does).

Why am i losing so much of my hair?

I have very long, thick, curly hair and wash it every day. When i do it seems that i get handfulls of hair that i am losing, and even more when i brush it. It is gross but when i am done i almost have a cupfull of hair that i lost. It has been doing this now for about a year now. I know i am not going bald since my hair is so thick but why am i losing so much of it?

Why am i losing so much of my hair?

Me too girlfriend. We are blessed with thick beautiful hair, but it gets everywhere!!! I find it on the floor, in the clean clothes (dryer), in the bathtub! After several months I pull a "rat" out of the drain and it's my hair clogging it up!! As long as you're not pulling out clumps (meaning, creating bald spots) you're o.k. I told my OBGYN and she said it's hormones and nutrition and normal. And, no, we don't shed like animals do. Just in case you're wondering.

Why am i losing so much of my hair?

if you keep ur hair pulled up thats the problem. i have the same problem

Why am i losing so much of my hair?

stress and old age

Why am i losing so much of my hair?

Are you tough on your hair? When you brush it, try using detangling spray. As well hold it and don't be rough with it. That can definitly be a reason. I don't know about you but when i take a shower, my hair gets weaved through my fingers. Try using more conditioner or switching shampoo that will make your hair stronger. I don't know what you use now..but try out Garnier or Pantine Pro V. They're both really great products.

Why am i losing so much of my hair?

that happened to me and i found out i had thyroid problems. also i know that depo provera bc can cause your hair to fall out.

Why am i losing so much of my hair?

Check with your doctor because there are health conditions that can cause hair loss. One that comes to mind is hypothyroidism.

Why am i losing so much of my hair?

My hair is the exact same. I found out that it is normal to lose that amount of hair. Especially if you never miss it. Try not to wash it every single day. Do it every other unless you work out daily.

Why am i losing so much of my hair?

You didn't say how old you were, but that is too much hair loss. Hair loss can be attributed to medication usage, lack of certain vitamins, thyroid, and other underlying problems. Have you told your doctor? You should get a full blood analysis and see what is going on, and the sooner the better.

Why am i losing so much of my hair?

Health of hairs depends upon diet you take .Vitamin "E" is helpful for hairs in many ways . Take balance diet regularly ,do some exercises ; good health will naturally have good hairs .

Why am i losing so much of my hair?

There's a whole ton of reasons you could be losing your hair. Hormones are a big one for women....or lack of them.

If you're on different medications such as anti-depressants also could be a factor.

Stress is another reason women lose their hair (which happened to me recently also, and I was very scared for a couple of months!)

It's a good idea to get blood work done and see if you're lacking in certain vitamins and hormones etc. that could contribute to hair loss.

Lupus is also another cause and a more serious disease that you would have to be diagnosed by your doctor first, of course.

Why am i losing so much of my hair?

At first, I was going to say that you're shedding like other animals during the changing of the seasons.

I have very thick hair as well, but my hair is short. So maybe it's just because your hair is long.

If it continues, speak with a doctor.

Why am i losing so much of my hair?

the human body is always losing hair. if its a drastic change from before, id go to a doctor, i could be your diet, or stress, or many other things..

Why am i losing so much of my hair?

Have you been loosing weight or exercising a lot lately? Steady diet? my hair fell out by the hand fulls when i lost a lot of weight and my doctor said it may be because of the change of diet. Normal humans loose about 100 strands of hair a day. If you are not dieting then you may want to talk to your doctor about it because like previously stated, it may be a thyroid problem.

Why am i losing so much of my hair?

it could be do to stress or maybe a hormone imbalance ......if u where ponytails try not to where them toooo tight

Why am i losing so much of my hair?

If you dye your hair...you may want to stop dying it so much. Also this time of year everyone sheds. I wouldn't worry about it too much.

Why am i losing so much of my hair?

First of all, do not wash your hair everyday. People think its gross, but really it just stresses your hair out. When you wash your hair, you can make it shiny by putting it in a bun afterwards. Then, don't comb your hair much, don't put chemicals in it. Just let it be. Also, you could use oil. I would prefer Monoi or Jojoba oils. In order to have fine hair you must have healthy foods. Finally, don't go on crash diets, it can cause hair loss. Hope this might help you.

Why am i losing so much of my hair?

may be of ur tensions

if sleep is notsufficient

use nice shampoos

Why am i losing so much of my hair?

an iron deficiency came to mind. that's what causes mine. i also lost a ton of hair right after i had both of my daughters. i thought i was going bald!

Why am i losing so much of my hair?

Reduce Hair Loss With A Thorough Head Massage

A thorough massage is necessary to improve the blood circulation of the scalp. By massaging the scalp the hair follicles are stimulated and the texture of the hair is also enhanced. Massaging ...... http://hair-growth.blogspot.com/

Vitamins for hair growth

Hair loss or baldness is caused mainly due to the lack of Vitamin B supplements. Vitamin B5 contains pantothenic acid and B3 (niacin that is vital for hair growth). B6 is equally important ....... http://hair-growth.blogspot.com/

I lose about 80 hairs a day. I never knew that I was even losing that much hair.?

When I wash my hair and comb it after I wash it when it is wet I lose about 15 hairs. I just realized that all of the hair falling out is when I am blow drying it. I put a towel underneath my hair when I am blow drying it, and that's where it all falls out, and then after when I tug at the ends after blow drying it, it comes out then. Also, if I brush it after blow drying it that's also when the hair is falling out. I blame alot of it on the blowdryer. My question is that I wonder if the majority of hair that falls out from blowdrying is coming out from the root or just breaking. Is all of this hair fall normal. You wonder if your hair is really growing back.

I lose about 80 hairs a day. I never knew that I was even losing that much hair.?

Don't worry :) The average person loses about 100 strands of hair a day. You only need to worry if you find yourself developing a bald spot or two. In that case, it might be genetic or poor nutrition. If anything, if you are really worried, go see your doctor. But 80 strands is fine, you probably lost even more because the average is 100. So yea, hope this was helpful and good luck!

I lose about 80 hairs a day. I never knew that I was even losing that much hair.?

im pretty sure it grows back..i think thats normal (but not sure)

I lose about 80 hairs a day. I never knew that I was even losing that much hair.?

I LOOSE HAIR I THINK IT IS NORMAL YOU CAN ALWAYS TO TALK TO COSMOTOLOGIST! :)

I lose about 80 hairs a day. I never knew that I was even losing that much hair.?

Yeah, it grows back. Maybe you've got a thyroid problem. See your doctor.

I lose about 80 hairs a day. I never knew that I was even losing that much hair.?

Everyone loses hairs at about the same rate. It's if you grow them back or not that counts. Unless it comes out in clumps, then you might have alapecia or however you spell it.

I lose about 80 hairs a day. I never knew that I was even losing that much hair.?

if your hair falls out from the root, then it wont grow back. but i've heard on tv that you lose about 80 hairs a day.

I lose about 80 hairs a day. I never knew that I was even losing that much hair.?

thats normal. dont get afraid

I lose about 80 hairs a day. I never knew that I was even losing that much hair.?

i read from some article tat v lost abt 50-100 hair a day

If this keeps on like it is, she will be bald by Christmas

My mother, 77 years old has begun in the past 6 months since going into a nursing home, losing her hair.?

It's possible that it is malnutrition. Other than that, many women do become almost bald from genetic and hormonal factors as they become elderly. I would check the status of her nutrition, though.

P.S. Try to see that she takes a daily vitamin/mineral supplement and (very important) a complete amino acid supplement.

My mother, 77 years old has begun in the past 6 months since going into a nursing home, losing her hair.?

If there is no medical reason that you know of, take her to a doctor outside of the facility. Hair loss is one of the first signs of malnutrition. Long term care facilities sometimes don't live up to our expectations, so it's best to keep a close eye on your mom for any signs of abuse or neglect.

How can I deal with my hair quickly losing volume, especially overnight?

To clarify...

When I take a shower and then blowdry my hair, my hair looks decent. I quite like it. However, it quickly loses that look. It becomes so flat!

Overnight it's even worse. God forbid how I look when I wake up.

Nevertheless, I find that it is only like this during the winter. In the spring and summer, I wake up and my hair looks great. It is only during the winter when it loses its volume that it looks like crap?

How do I manage to keep this volume overnight or over a long period of time? I tried hairspray but it's only half-successful.

How can I deal with my hair quickly losing volume, especially overnight?

You need to use some voluminizing shampoo. You can use hairspray to keep the style.

How can I deal with my hair quickly losing volume, especially overnight?

Cut it all off.

How can I deal with my hair quickly losing volume, especially overnight?

have you tried sleeping with rollers on top of your head? they should help you maintain volume in the top layers of your hair

How can I deal with my hair quickly losing volume, especially overnight?

wow, use your brain there girl, you need to blow dry it in the morning also... sleeping on your head for 8 hours is like putting it in a flat iron :D

and i don't get how it only flattens out in the winter. weird.

How can I deal with my hair quickly losing volume, especially overnight?

Ok, um... I would suggest using a volumizing shampoo, conditioner, and moose. Garnier Fructis really seems to work for me in all of there products including curl-up, and things. Sounds like your conditioner might be too heavy.

How can I deal with my hair quickly losing volume, especially overnight?

You could try a Root Lifting spray - works wonders for me.

Spritz it on as you are almost finished drying and styling your hair. Then finish with a light touch of hairspray.

How can I deal with my hair quickly losing volume, especially overnight?

blowdry upside down, then, when you get up in the morning, do it again to refresh it. No matter what, do not stuff your hair like that girl on that commercial. how embarassing!

Losing too much hair, becoming noticeable. Help!?

I used to have really thick hair, back when I didn't wash it everyday and straightened it everyday. These days, I'm concerned about it looking too oily or smelling funny, so I end up washing my hair everyday with Pantene, then straightening it later on.

And now, I have thinner hair, and it's really noticeable, and it's starting to bother me.

I heard stress also contributes, and I've been stressed out lately as well.

I want to know what I can do to help stop this process or reverse it. I actually miss my poufy old hair...it's better than having really thin hair...

Include details, please.

Losing too much hair, becoming noticeable. Help!?

you cant reverse it really but you can stop or slow it down.

shampoo like either 3-4 times a week. and if you are having a problem with oils use baby powder on the areas closest to your scalp but only on top where you are gonna notice the oils more and just brush it through.

try not to straighten your hair everyday give your hair a break for awhile from heat, like blow dryers and flat irons.

you can ask a doctor about it and they can prescribe a topical medication that you apply to your hair and helps stimulate hair growth and thickness. it has chemicals in it like monoxidil or finasteride which are in products like rogaine. but the doctor can give you a version which is good for you.

try not to sleep with a ponytail in your hair its better to let it go natural while sleeping. it keeps stress off the hair.

get regular haircuts like every 6-8 weeks to avoid it from looking stringy.

Losing too much hair, becoming noticeable. Help!?

Yeah, you should definitly not wash your hair everyday. Thats bad for you. You should wash it every other day or every two days. Also, on top of that straightening your hair everyday is also really bad. Your taking all of the moisture and natural oils out of your hair. You should just let your hair air dry from now on,NOT straighten it so often, and wash your hair every other day.

Losing too much hair, becoming noticeable. Help!?

Pantene is CRAP shampoo. THey use the same ingredients in floor polish, and while it will make your hair shiny it is not good for it. Spend a few dollars on salon products, you can get some as cheap as $10, and your hair will drastically improve. Also, instead of straightening daily blowdry straight (lots of tension in the hair) on low with a mix of hot and cool air. Straightening is terrible.

Take prenatal vitamins as well, though it may seem weird, the nutrients in them will help your hair and fingernails and won't hurt you. If that freaks you out too much, try just taking vitamin E.

Losing too much hair, becoming noticeable. Help!?

i had this when i first started straightening my hair a lot

try "nutricap" - it comes in both pill and shampoo form.. i bought the pills just because i would probably use the shampoo too quick..

i only had to buy about one pack of pills or two and my hair began to be full again!

you can buy it at your local drugstores, zellers, grocery stores in the beauty section, etc.

best of luck.. i know what it feels like!

Losing too much hair, becoming noticeable. Help!?

There are several factors that can contribute to hair loss such as:

Stress and trauma are prone to produce increased levels of testosterone, which converts to DHT, and interrupts the hair growth cycle [constricting the blood supply, oxygen and nutrient uptake and vitamins to the hair follicle].

Nutrition and diet play a significant role in hair loss whereby a high consumption of animal fats, rapid weight loss and liquid protein diets can create a lack of amino acids, biotin, iron, protein and zinc - all of which are essential to healthy hair.

Health issues such as a malfunctioning of the hormone producing thyroid and natural hormonal changes in women due to pregnancy, childbirth and menopause, can trigger hair loss.

Medications such as birth-control or any hormone therapy can contribute to hair loss as the hair follicle is incredibly sensitive to changes. Steroids, specific chemotherapies as well as many blood pressure, diabetic, heart disease and acne medications can cause temporary or permanent hair loss.

Environmental factors such as toxins, air and water pollutants, chlorine, metals and minerals may be left on the scalp and hair as we wash with water every day. Pollutants such as pseudo-estrogens and toxins from within our body can also contribute to hair loss.

One main products recommended my Dermatologists and Podiatrists all over the United states is ELON Matrix 5,000. The biotin supplement has been shown to improve thinning hair problems withing 6 months. Basically the ingredients help to rebuild the hair follicle to decrease the loss of hair and help to strengthen the new hair growth. They have also seen results in Alopecia patients which is a major breakthrough!

Losing too much hair, becoming noticeable. Help!?

i flat iron my hair at least 5 days a week. if you use a good (salon quality ceramic) flat iron, you shouldn't have a problem. invest in a salon flat iron spray (not to clean it) to protect your hair from the heat. it helps a lot.

STOP THE G-D PANTENE!!!! read the ingredients! it is absolute crap! if the fda cared about women it would be banned! Basic Pantene Pro-V Daily Moisture Renewal Shampoo: Ingredients

Water , Ammonium Laureth Sulfate , Ammonium Lauryl Sulfate , Sodium Chloride , Dimethicone , Glycol Distearate , Cetyl Alcohol , Cocamide MEA , Panthenol , Panthenyl Ethyl Ether , Lysine HCL , Methyl Tyrosinate HCl , Histidine , Fragrance , Polyquaternium-10 , Sodium Citrate , Hydrogenated Polydecene , Sodium Benzoate , Disodiium EDTA , Trimethylolpropane Tricaprylate/Tricaprate, Citric Acid , Ammonium Xylenesulfonate, Methylchloroisothiazolinone , Methylisothiazolinone

Ammonium Laureth Sulfate: your basic foaming agent. lots of people are allergic to this, ammonium lauryl sulfate, sodium laureth sulfate, and sodium lauryl sulfate (including me); can make scalp super dry and itchy. it is unnecessarily harsh.

and this also has ammonium lauryl sulfate. the ammonium sulfates are harsher than the sodiums. this is why you don't buy cheap shampoo, and why your hair colors fade so quickly when you use them.

sodium chloride: not so bad. basic table salt. actually attracts moisture from the air. could be bad if hair tends to be frizzy or is on the curly side.

dimethicone is actually an antifoaming agent. must be why they use 2 foaming agents. why not just remove this and one of the harsh foaming agents. hmm.

glycol distearate does nothing but make it pearlescent. waste.

cetyl alcohol is a surfactant; basically a soap.

cocamide MEA is a foaming agent and cationic surfactant.

panthenol is pro-vitamin B-5. when it touches the hair, it actually plumps it 5%. it is also used as a humectant. i believe all pantene products use this ingredient, hence the name "pantene."

no idea on panthenyl ethyl ether.

lysine HCL: lysine is an amino acid with no cosmetic use. HCL is hydrochloride, which, when contacted with water, makes hydrochloric acid. this combination makes me rather nervous.

methyl tyrosinate hcl: no idea.

histidine: natural amino acid

fragrance: causes allergies in many people; having it listed as generic "fragrance" is disturbing

polyquaternium-10: helps hair lay flat

sodium citrate: controls acidity, but it is an irritant

hydrogenated polydecene: no idea

sodium benzoate: bactericidal, bacteriostatic, fungistatic preservative; thought to cause ADHD when mixed with certain food colors

disodium EDTA: improves product stability; basically allows them to keep product on shelves longer

Trimethylolpropane Tricaprylate/Tricaprate: no idea

citric acid: when used in shampoo, it helps wash out wax, and also washes out artificial color, hence color fade

Ammonium Xylenesulfonate: no idea

Methylchloroisothiazolinone: antibacterial, antifungal preservative; is a known allergen

Methylisothiazolinone: powerful biocide (pesticide, antimicrobial); recent studies show it to be neurotoxic (alters the activity of the nervous system in a way to cause damage to the nervous tissue)

maybe you need to read this: http://www.naturalnews.com/005342.html i know it's a "hippie" article, but this crap is killing you little by little.

i recently switched to organic shampoos and body washes. not due to the health risk, but due to becoming allergic to sodium laureth/sodium lauryl sulfate. i was itching so bad i thought i was going to scratch my skin right off. as soon as i switched, the itching stopped. organic is always an option. burt's bees is an organic brand and it is sold here at walgreens and rite aid pharmacies.

the point is, THROW AWAY THE PANTENE!!! the ingredients i can find no info on are probably floor wax ingredients. i wouldn't expose myself to a product that has ingredients known to cause irreversible neurological damage to lab rats. don't risk your health.

good luck!

Losing too much hair, becoming noticeable. Help!?

I think its the fact that you use a straighting iron everyday. That's bad for your hair. Why don't you try flat ironing with less heat.Maybe one a week.

Losing hair at an early age?

I'm 15, almost 16, and everyone says my hair is getting thin on top. Yes, I do have facial and body hair. I played football for the first time this year, and was wondering if wearing a helmet could damage your hair. Also will being out in direct sunlight damage your hair. How could I possibly reverse this process? Are there any vitamins I could take or something like that? And I just read over this question and realized it doesn't make a lot of sense but I'm to lazy to rewrite it lol, sorry. But any answers will be appreciated.

Losing hair at an early age?

There are some men that start loosing their hair at that early if an age, I started at 18. This was suggested and it worked in slowing it down for years. Just massage your scalp with your fingers for five minutes every night. It increases the blood flow and supplies the scalp with nutrients. It is easy and it WORKS.

Losing hair at an early age?

mostly its hereditary, your mothers father is usually where you get your hair line from.

Bleaching arm hair = losing tan?

No bleaching your body hair doesnt effect your skin pigment. It's perfectly safe.

Bleaching arm hair = losing tan?

I kinda wonder why it's called bleach.

You are losing you hair for 2 reasons one is you are not healthy.Falling hair indicates us that we are ill.Another reason is you are using exccessive of chemical shampoos and hair conditioners. To be natural just use shikai then you just apply oil to yuur hair it will thick and strong. This is traditional Indian method for applying oil or taking a bath in India.I wish you all the best fro hair to start growing up again.

From past 1 1/2 month iam losing my hair %26amp; almost left with 50% of what i had earlier, can any one help me?

you really need to talk to your doctor. i would recommend taking the pre-natal vitamins again. you can get them over the counter for something like this, and they will help your hair grow. but i would go to a doctor, probably a dermatologist, and find out if something more serious is going wrong other than post-partum hair loss. it is common for women to lose their hair after having a baby. but with that much loss, something else may be the cause.

From past 1 1/2 month iam losing my hair %26amp; almost left with 50% of what i had earlier, can any one help me?

There is a condition called Alopecia which is a spotted loss of hair. A lot of reasons might cause this condition, such as stress and medications that you might have been taking. I also have been losing hair and I guess its because of stress and that I've been losing a lot of sleep. I tried using shampoos to stop hair fall and hopefully it's working. But since you've mentioned that it's been a month and a half and so much hair has gone...you might have to visit your dermatologist. Goodluck!

Well after you had or before you had your baby when you had sex the person you did it with probably had cancer and that's the only way your hair is falling out either you have cancer or you just don't take care of your hair. I think you should go to a doctor and check your self out!!

I too lost a lot of hair after my baby was born. It was alarming. It has to do with the hormonal changes in your body. I remember being in the shower and crying as it came out in big wads when I shampooed! If it really bothers you, ask your doctor, but rest assured that it will come back. Anytime in my life that my body had a big change or shock (childbirth, surgery, emotional loss) I have shed a lot of hair.

If u r using coconut oil for your hairs means put some "Methi" in that oil and keep.. whenever u r using that oil first just heat the oil and massage it well on your scalps in the night. and in the morning u use DOVE shampoo and wash it well. dont use any hair conditioners.. try to use this oil twice in the week . it will give you the best result.

I haven't gone to the doctor YET but I was wanting an opinion from you guys whether or not you think I'm losing too much hair. What is wrong with a cat that is losing weight and eats alot and its hair is falling off in places o

My son has a stray cat that showed up at his barn. They have food out for him all the time but he looks like he is losing weight, his hair is falling out in places and on his tail,I was thinking of taking him but I don't want a sick cat and enormous vet bills.

What is wrong with a cat that is losing weight and eats alot and its hair is falling off in places on its tail

First try an over the counter worming preperation.

Second try food that is easier to eat like baby food soup or make his food soupy. It could be teeth that hurt.

Can you touth him. Perhaps he needs more protein. Sick cats sometimes do. I feed mine baby bites of cheese.

Between baby food chicken soup and softer well cut food you might find the answer. You could also try kitty vitamins.

Cats loose weight and hair for many reasons. This is really basic.

I have taken in strays all my life and feed others as well.

I have kept many cats alive with this formula.

Once when I was feeding a feral community a decent quality dry they were all sick like that. When I started feeding them soft canned meat as well. Some in the morning they all got better within a couple of months.

Best wishes I am feeding one of mine baby food right now.

What is wrong with a cat that is losing weight and eats alot and its hair is falling off in places on its tail

dont know...

What is wrong with a cat that is losing weight and eats alot and its hair is falling off in places on its tail

May be ring worm.

What is wrong with a cat that is losing weight and eats alot and its hair is falling off in places on its tail

No, something is wrong with the cat. Take him to a vet. If you were sick and helpless you would want someone to take you to a Dr. Don't be heartless.

What is wrong with a cat that is losing weight and eats alot and its hair is falling off in places on its tail

It could have fleas or some sort of skin infection

His hair could be falling out due to him/her trying to clean its self remember this cat has a life dont let it die..

What is wrong with a cat that is losing weight and eats alot and its hair is falling off in places on its tail

He sounds old. Also, he may have mange or worms... your best bet is to ring a veterinary hospital and ask for some advice. They should tell you what they think is wrong and what you can do to fix the problem.

What is wrong with a cat that is losing weight and eats alot and its hair is falling off in places on its tail

The cat may just have dry skin but I would get it checked out ASAP

What is wrong with a cat that is losing weight and eats alot and its hair is falling off in places on its tail

if it is a female cat..she may be in heat. it is very common for these symptoms to occur in cats in dogs in the summer. It may also be that the cat has tape worms, therefore, the stomach can't tolerate any food. If the cat won't eat, the nutrition in food is vital for the healthy shiny coat.

I may also suggest taking it to a humane society, or calling animal control to take it away, I know how heartbreaking that could be, but it may be in best interest.

Hope I was help

What is wrong with a cat that is losing weight and eats alot and its hair is falling off in places on its tail

Could be fleas or worms; either can cause hair loss and loss of weight.

Take him to the vet.

What is wrong with a cat that is losing weight and eats alot and its hair is falling off in places on its tail

Sounds like it could be a number of things. Thyroid, feline aids, or leukemia. You could at least get it dewormed. There is no cure for the luke or aids.

What is wrong with a cat that is losing weight and eats alot and its hair is falling off in places on its tail

He probably has worms... Go to Petco or a similar store and pick up something for a remedy...

poor kitty...

What is wrong with a cat that is losing weight and eats alot and its hair is falling off in places on its tail

well losing weight while eating alot means he has worms. the worms are getting all the food %26amp; the cat is getting none, hence the weight loss. poor guy needs to be wormed, or he's not gonna make it. hair loss could be allergies, a skin infection, mange...worming a cat is inexpensive, i would do that and mention to the vet about the tail while getting the worm medicine

What is wrong with a cat that is losing weight and eats alot and its hair is falling off in places on its tail

Uh oh...something's wrong. Sounds like worms to me, but PLEASE take it to a vet. The vets will understand, but this kitty is sick and helpless.

What is wrong with a cat that is losing weight and eats alot and its hair is falling off in places on its tail

Hi

A few things. You didn't mention whether he was drinking and peeing alot but being a stray, you wouldn't know that. If this is the case, the cat may have diabetes. If not, hyper thyroid may be the problem. If you are willing to take the cat in, the costs to start may be a bit high but these things can be easily controlled. I can help you with the diabetes so you don't need to go to the vets all the time and can take control yourself.email me if this is the case as alot of vets like to keep the cat in the office for a few days which is totally unnecessary The hyperthyroid can be treated with a pill mixed in food

The losing hair around the tail is most likly allergies. Dry foods are the number one cause of this as well as diabetes.

Canned foods w/o gravy would be best

What is wrong with a cat that is losing weight and eats alot and its hair is falling off in places on its tail

the hair thing can be ringworm, or flea allergy. Losing weight can be something simple like worms, or even something major like feline leukemia.

What is wrong with a cat that is losing weight and eats alot and its hair is falling off in places on its tail

I think that's mange. We had a cat named angel and she started loosing hair and was very ,very skinny. So we mentioned it to a lady who knew alot about pets and thats what she said.

My guinea pig is suffering from impaction and is losing it's hair and it's skin is ruff?

My guinea pig is suffering from impaction and is losing it's hair and it's skin is ruff. It is on the brink of death and and want to help it as much as I can. What I think is the case is since it's "waste" doesn't come out there forth it doesn't have enough nutrition because guinea pigs eat there "waste" because it contains minerals it didn't get the "first trip through." Please contact me with answers and tips for impaction so I can keep pippin for as long as I can. We are currently pushing the waste out and feeding it lots of veggies and hay and giving it a lot of attention. "He is an old male guinea pig."

My guinea pig is suffering from impaction and is losing it's hair and it's skin is ruff?

Find a cavy-savvy vet in your area %26amp; take him in. They will be able to show you how to properly clean out his perineal sac. This is important in keeping him as healthy as possible in his senior years. See http://www.aracnet.com/cgi-usr/seagull/v... for finding a qualified vet near you.

At the same time, the vet can diagnose whats going on with his skin %26amp; hair issue.

My guinea pig is suffering from impaction and is losing it's hair and it's skin is ruff?

What is the matter with you?! Get off your lazy butt and TAKE HIM TO THE VET!!! It is his RIGHT BY LAW to receive proper medical care and to deny it is abuse. You don't have the training or education required to properly diagnose and prescribe for your old guinea pig. Why won't you treat him with some dignity and respect? If he's old and been with you for years, why not give him a chance and take him to the vet? He could be made a lot more comfortable with proper care.

And stop asking unqualified strangers on the internet who haven't even seen your guinea pig, let alone examined him!

Blockage is life-threatening. Can you imagine his discomfort and pain?

GET HIM TO THE VET!

My guinea pig is suffering from impaction and is losing it's hair and it's skin is ruff?

what goes in, must come out? therefore feed some pumpkin, or squash, to help loosen its bowels.

My guinea pig is suffering from impaction and is losing it's hair and it's skin is ruff?

If he's losing his hair and his skin is rough, then he's been sick for quite some time. He needed to be taken to a vet when he first started losing his hair.

He absolutely has to be taken to a vet now. If he's in that bad of shape ("on the brink of death"), he must be taken to a vet ASAP. Denying an animal proper medical care when it's obviously in profound distress is considered to be willful neglect and abuse (to use the legal phrase). If you love him, you need to stop self-diagnosing the problem and go to a vet now...not Yahoo! Answers Pets forum.

My guinea pig is suffering from impaction and is losing it's hair and it's skin is ruff?

Those seem like 2 different problems. Impaction is often seen in older boars. There's no cure for it, but here is alink with tips on it. http://www.guinealynx.info/impaction.htm...

It's important to keep his perineal sac cleared out.

The hair loss and rough skin sounds like mites or fungus. The stress of the impaction could be causing the mites to flare up.

http://www.guinealynx.info/fungus.html

http://www.guinealynx.info/mites.html

Go to the vet.

**Addition: I just remembered that I have heard that more exercise can help with impaction problems. So be sure he gets a ton of floor time!

My guinea pig is suffering from impaction and is losing it's hair and it's skin is ruff?

You really need to take your little guy to a trained exotic veternarian. You should ask the vet about Critical Care, which is a nutritional package you can get to feed sick guinea pigs. This includes syringe feeding if your guinea pig becomes lethargic.

I work in a dental office, I have a growth on my chin (my lymphnodes are inflamed) and losing hair?

I have worked in this dental office for six years, and A couple years ago I also had growths in the bridge of my nose. Doctors keep ruling out any health concerns as they are benign, Has this happened to any of u in the healthcare field or Do u have any ideas as to what this may be? Related to radiation maybe?

I work in a dental office, I have a growth on my chin (my lymphnodes are inflamed) and losing hair?

have the doctors performed any tests? How are they ruling out your health concerns? Did they biopsy the growth? If you really don't like the growth go to a dermatologist. The dermatologist will remove the growth and send it for evaluation.

My 8 year old dog is losing her hair on her elbows and skin is red and flakey?

My eight year old golden retriever is losing her hair on her elbows. She is in good shape, gets 2 walks a day, well groomed, is fed holistic food, and never kenneled. Have you experienced this before or know what it is? Anything I can do to help her? Thanks!

My 8 year old dog is losing her hair on her elbows and skin is red and flakey?

goldens and labs get this all the time. No big problem. It happpens with carpet and hard wood or tile floors. The fur just wears off on the elbows and probaly will not grow back. If the dog is not licking it, just moisturize the area when it get noticeably irritated but leave alone otherwise.

A secret: Buy first aid cream and rub a little in at night. It moisturizes and soothes the area. Get the Johnson and Johnson brand of First Aid Cream. But this is not indicative of a skin problem or fleas. It is just the result of the way they lay.

My 8 year old dog is losing her hair on her elbows and skin is red and flakey?

I think it's a common area for dogs to lose their fur. When she lies down she may be wearing out the area. Try putting some vasline on her elbows and check for fleas. If she is acting fine otherwise, I wouldn't worry too much.

My 8 year old dog is losing her hair on her elbows and skin is red and flakey?

My neighbor's dog had something similar, it turned out to be nothing. Sometimes this happens when they sleep on rought surfaces, so if she sleeps on a concrete or hardwood floor, or even on berber carpets it'll wear on her elbows. Give her a soft place to sleep and try massaging a little vaseline into her elbows to help condition the skin. Might also be a yeast infection in her skin, so if it doesn't go away in a little while, get her tested.

My 8 year old dog is losing her hair on her elbows and skin is red and flakey?

My dog has skin problems, so I give her an essential oils supplement. Some are sold in capsules, but I prefer the liquid kind that you mix with their food. Grizzly Salmon Oil and Lipiderm are some good choices, both are all natural and have done wonders for my dog's skin and coat.

Curly hair losing curls?

I have curly hair....and im usually always straightening it. However, lately i have noticed that after i take a shower...some curls in my hair are not as constant as the rest of my hair. It seems like it is straightening out. What can i do to get my hair back to its original state?

Curly hair losing curls?

Use shampoo and conditioner especially made for curly hair if you aren't already- it will help bring out the...er....curliness =)

Good luck ^^

Curly hair losing curls?

try using shampoo for normal hair and don't straighten it for a while. also, try using a curling iron a bit (but not all the time otheriwse u damage and dry out your hair)

Curly hair losing curls?

try using a shampoo contd duo for curly hair that should help also try a curl activator mouse

Curly hair losing curls?

my hair seems to get curlier the more i straighten it...which stinks because i like it straight....

My sis has a pitbull and he scratches so much that his tail is bleeding and is losing hair all over

This dog could have external parasites like fleas or ticks or even lice that make him itchy, or he could have microscopic parasites like mange mites . If you can see fleas , ticks or lice on him then he needs to be treated for that. If that doesn't stop the itching then you will need to take him to the vet to be checked for mange. ( they will scrape his itchy spots and look at the slide under a microscope for the mites)

My sis has a pitbull and he scratches so much that his tail is bleeding and is losing hair all over whats up?

give it a bath and buy some flea treatment

My sis has a pitbull and he scratches so much that his tail is bleeding and is losing hair all over whats up?

Oh my goodness, this dog needs to go to a vet. Once fleas are ruled out your dr. will probably tell you the dog has worms. Has the dog ever been de-wormed? All animals are born with worms and need to be de- wormed. Or of course the dog could just have a skin condition, all is treatable but the dog needs to go to the vet as soon as possible.

My sis has a pitbull and he scratches so much that his tail is bleeding and is losing hair all over whats up?

My dog had the same thing, it is possibly allergies, and that causes dry skin. That causes the dog to scratch uncontrollably. The vet will give them a steroid, and a cortisone cream, and that should clear it up.

My sis has a pitbull and he scratches so much that his tail is bleeding and is losing hair all over whats up?

my dog had the same thing. she was allergic to fleas. it is common 1 out of 10 dogs get it. go to the yets and under his recogmendation get a madicated shampoo and wash your dog every day. after about a month depending on how your dog reacts to the shampoo he should be fine.

My sis has a pitbull and he scratches so much that his tail is bleeding and is losing hair all over whats up?

sounds like fleas or a food allergy type of food has a lot to do with it get a high grade dog food with no corn

My friend works in a dental office, devloped growth on hr chin (lymphnodes are inflamed) and losing hair?

She would have to be sitting in the chair after hours and shooting exposure after exposure intentionally to cause this.

I am in New Jersey and we are required to have all new machines inspected by a licensed radiation physicist. I used to use those monitoring badges for x-ray exposure. One guy saw a badge sitting on the counter and said to stop wasting the money. He had been in the business for 10-15 years (I forget.) and he said tha the had NEVER heard of a dental office staff member who ever had any positive results on a quarterly monitor. Our x-ray machines are just not that powerful.

I would urge your friend to see a dermatologist for a second opinion.

My dog keeps scratching, it has fleas we put flea drops on her but she keeps losing hair. what'

Depending on what kind of flea drops you put on her.. this could be the reason she is losing hair. These things are very toxic chemicals in which some of them totally burn the skin on certain dogs for whatever reason. You need to call the vet and tell them what you have tried and ask them if you can come in and pick up a capstar and frontline.. Wont cost much more then 10 bucks.

Be sure to tell them what all you have done to her so far so that they can advise how long you need to wait in between doses of whatever you used and the frontline.. You should be able to do the capstar right away which will kill any flea on her with in 24 hours... They will come back though if they are in her environment.

My dog keeps scratching, it has fleas we put flea drops on her but she keeps losing hair. what's going on?

What kind of flea prevention did you use?

My dog keeps scratching, it has fleas we put flea drops on her but she keeps losing hair. what's going on?

What kind of drops? If they were from a store, don't expect them to work.

You ALWAYS need to treat the environment when you have a flea problem - pick up something decent from a vet. While you there, get some Frontline, Advantage or Revolution if you haven't already and make sure you part the animal's fur so you can get it ALL on the skin, not on the fur.

Very possibly your dog has a flea allergy so I would really take her to the vet to be checked when you go to get the treatment.

Why is my 6 year old mare losing her hair?

I know she is losing her winter coat, but she seems to be losing a lot of extra hair. It looks really thin in places. She is definately not stressed. If anything she is spoiled because we are getting her ready to breed. She is otherwise healthy. She has had sensitive skin in the past. She was a rescue.

Why is my 6 year old mare losing her hair?

Molasses! Try giving her a lttle every day for a while and see if that helps. Our horses love it and the doc says it helps with a myriad of problems for them. Our mare had these patches with no hair and we used the molasses and it grew back in real well very quickly.

Why is my 6 year old mare losing her hair?

I wouldn't worry too much. Horses with sensitive skin often have thin hair too, don't know why. If bald patches showing up, get a good look at her skin and see if it looks like anything is wrong. Otherwise, give her some molasses or oil (like a vegetable oil) in her feed - makes her coat very shiny and healthy.

Why is my 6 year old mare losing her hair?

Get a magnifying glass and look very closely at the roots of the mane hairs and anywhere the fur is thin to make sure she doesn't have lice or mites. At the end of one dry winter my sister's horses had coat loss first then they suddenly lost condition as well. If you find there are parasites on your horses, don't panic it's not hard to treat, the blankets and stuff will need spraying and you will be able to get all you need to treat it from a farm supplies store, which would be cheaper than a horse supply store.

Just get on and find out for sure what is causing it quickly, before your horse actually gets weakened by it.

Another thing that causes hair loss is ringworm, also easily treated with medication from a vet. If you are sure it isn't lice or mites, get a vet to look at the condition and play it safe.

Horses are a big animal but when they get something seriously wrong it can mean losing the horse if left untreated or worse mistreated for too long.

Be sure of the condition and don't dabble with treatments.

Cheers, Shona

Together we race across the field,

Pretending we are wild and free,

Easing our speed my equine friend yields,

He allows me to guide him and he sees,

How good homeward bound and a good rub down is,

A roll on his back, then a tepid drink, a good feed while brushed, then a warm rug just bliss.

Why is my 6 year old mare losing her hair?

cus she's old, if that advice right there didn't help then get a vet to check up on her!

Why is my 6 year old mare losing her hair?

A horse's outside condition is a good indicator of what is going on inside. If the hair loss seems to be excessive, you should have a vet come out and give her a look. Since you plan on breeding her, you should have the vet come out and look at her anyways. Since she was a rescue, something in her past may have triggered this condition. I know this isn't what you asked about, but just be sure you are being responsible about breeding your mare. There are so many unwanted horses in this country, make sure you have a future planned out for the resulting foal. Breeding for profit is irresponsible and is one of the reasons so many horses are slaughtered each year. If you really want to raise a foal, why don't you consider adopting a PMU foal or nurse mare foal? Every year thousands of foals go without homes due to the Premarin and nurse mare industries. I'm not saying you are one of the irresponsible breeders, or that you haven't thought about this, but I just like to point out a few good reasons why people shouldn't breed horses. The equine overpopulation problem is a sad, sad situation. Hopefully you will find out what's wrong with your mare before you decide to breed her.

Am I losing hair or just growing new hair from taking Hair Vitamins?

I've been taking double dose hair vitamins for a few months now and all of asudden I've been having VERY wavy hair, a few days ago I understood why.. all of a sudden I have little areas of like inch hairs. I have two coming out of my bang area near my hairline and a few on the top of my head. Are these new hairs growing in or am I somehow having my hair break and half and just being left with an inch? I take hair vitamins, use a haircare line for long hair and don't use heat appliances. I have shoulder length hair.

Am I losing hair or just growing new hair from taking Hair Vitamins?

look.... ... do not take double doses of hair related vitamins. doesnt help...

my friend had the same problem his hair grew wavy and then started to fall off.....

this is what he did......... start shaving your head with a razor blade every 2 days for about 1 month. and massage your head with vigin olive oil.. and continue taking ur vitamins at a normal dose. use soap, in place of shampoo for a while, and dont use any hair conditioners.

shaving makes hair thicker and stronger. btw my friends hair are fine now.

u can give it a shot, uv got nothing to loose.

I am a mother of 7 cats and one of my female cats is losing hair around the neck and front legs.?

she began vomiting ealier today. could she have eaten something badd. help with advice

I am a mother of 7 cats and one of my female cats is losing hair around the neck and front legs.?

I am a cat lover as well %26amp; have five friendly felines! In the past, one of my cats began compulsive grooming habits. In fact, I placed my cat on Prozac for a short while for this problem. Apparently, this is a problem that affects many felines. The loss of fur around the neck and front legs would lead me to believe your cat suffers from obsessive grooming. The vomiting may be due to the hair that is consumed with grooming. The vet explained to me that change of any type(small/large) could be enough to tramatize a feline enough that they start this compulsive behavior. So, try to reduce stress to your cat and see if there is any change, if not then I would suggest taking your feline to the vets. Best of luck!

I am a mother of 7 cats and one of my female cats is losing hair around the neck and front legs.?

You must be the first cat on Yahoo answers !!!

I am a mother of 7 cats and one of my female cats is losing hair around the neck and front legs.?

I am a mother of 7 cats and one of my female cats is losing hair around the neck and front legs.?

Didn't the doctor say anything when you gave birth to kittens?

I am a mother of 7 cats and one of my female cats is losing hair around the neck and front legs.?

It would be a good idea to check her for fleas by combing the area with a flea comb. It may be that she's itching there because of flea bites and/or having an allergic reaction to them. If you find fleas, of course, you'll need to treat them.

If that doesn't produce any results, then you should probably get her checked out by your veterinarian; if she's stressed, she could be grooming excessively to attempt to reduce her anxiety, and could be overdoing it.

My 13 yr. old Springer Spaniel has a skin condition. Lumps, bumps.sores and losing hair. She scratche

Been to the vet frequently. They prescribe drugs and expensive shampoos. She is bathed every 2 weeks. She is 13 yrs old. Although she is old, she is quite active, loves the water in summer but this condition persists all winter. Any advise?

My 13 yr. old Springer Spaniel has a skin condition. Lumps, bumps.sores and losing hair. She scratches frequent

it mihgt have "hot spots"

SPinger spaniels are prone to allergic skin reactions so you better take it to the wet and get medication.

good luck =)

My 13 yr. old Springer Spaniel has a skin condition. Lumps, bumps.sores and losing hair. She scratches frequent

Did your vet do any allergy testing? Sounds like she has developed an allergy to something.

My 13 yr. old Springer Spaniel has a skin condition. Lumps, bumps.sores and losing hair. She scratches frequent

It's an allergy. My late shih-tzu who lived to be 14 started developing it at around 12. It was aweful. Spent lots of money on her at the vets but nothing seemed to help but steroid shots once a week. They got her down to taking the shots once a month when she started to get better. Good luck! Allergy testing is the next best thing. But it was to expensive for me.

My 13 yr. old Springer Spaniel has a skin condition. Lumps, bumps.sores and losing hair. She scratches frequent

follow the advice of the vet but I was given a homemade remedy for skin for my dog by this african lady that worked. It is zinc mixed with vaseline or any oily substance because zinc comes in a powder. It is cheap and you might have to have your pharmacist order it because it isn't often used these days. But I made a paste of it and put it on my dogs back and it healed hot spots for good.

I have delivered my second baby 6 month ago. since last one month i have been losing hair a lot. my

has become very thin from the front.even my scalp has started to show. please help me.

I have delivered my second baby 6 month ago. since last one month i have been losing hair a lot. my hair line

I actually just read about this in one of my books and apparently it is common. Just keep taking a multivitamin or your prenatals

I have delivered my second baby 6 month ago. since last one month i have been losing hair a lot. my hair line

I found this link you might be interested in. Good luck!

I have delivered my second baby 6 month ago. since last one month i have been losing hair a lot. my hair line

Your hair normally goes through growth-fallout-growthy cycles, except when you're pregnant. While pregnant, it just grows, making your hair seem thicker because none of it is falling out.

After the baby is born, it resumes the growth-fallout-growth thing, but it's all on the same cycle, so it all seems to fall out at once.

After my second was born, I was pulling out handfuls of hair at each shower - it was awful. But it does grow back - all at once. You might even have little hairs that stick straight up when they're all really short.

If it doesn't stop though, see your doctor. You want to make sure you don't have something more serious going on, like alopcia or a thyroid disorder.

I have delivered my second baby 6 month ago. since last one month i have been losing hair a lot. my hair line

That's started happening to me as well. I found that taking the prenatal vitamins and washing my hair with a milk conditioner is seeming to help. I also don't wring out your hair by twisting it, instead, blot your hair,to minimize the pulling out of your hair.

I have delivered my second baby 6 month ago. since last one month i have been losing hair a lot. my hair line

This is actually common~ it happened to me after every delivery but I remember it being worse after my 2nd also. My doctor told me it was do to hormonal changes after delivery. I would suggest contacting your OB office if you are concerned it is getting too thin. They may be able to perscribe some medication to readjust your hormone levels and stop the thinning process. I do believe this topic was also discussed in the book "what to expect when you are expecting" which is given out at a lot of offices.

It also seems to be worse for those with course, black hair. My sister-in-law is Indian and it really effected her after both of her babies.

Good Luck and Congrats!

I'm 30 and already losing my hair. What else could cause this?

I started losing my hair about 1 1/2 years ago. I saw my doctor and he did all kinds of tests. All tests came out negative. He even put me on Zoloft, thought that I would be stressed. Still no change. Now he wanted me to take a break from my bp (Yasmin) to see if that might be the problem. I've been taking the pill for 16 years now. Only taken a break from it twice, both times becoming pregnant (planned ones). I've been taking multi-vitamins and even trying different shampoos. I think I've exhausted all possibilities. Is there something else out there I missed and should try? Any advice would be great.

I'm 30 and already losing my hair. What else could cause this?

Could be hereditary? I had similar problems, they found out that the thyroid medication was too strong of a dose that I was taking.

I'm 30 and already losing my hair. What else could cause this?

the same thing is happening to my mom right now and they told her to crush birth control pills in her shampoo and it would help...sounds weird but coudnt hurt to try

I have pieces of crust forming in my scalp that cause pain. I think im losing hair also.Hair around

You might have a case of impetigo. See a doctor and you can get a shampoo or something that will clear it up.

I have pieces of crust forming in my scalp that cause pain. I think im losing hair also.Hair around crust hurt

1. Comb hair.

2. Pull out a piece of the crust and look at it.

3. Put the piece of crust in a baggie in case your condition worsens and you need a stronger formula.

4. Wash hair in Head and Shoulders shampoo. Rinse again.

5. Do this regularly...at least every other day.

6. If this doesn't help, consult your doctor.

My Cat is losing alot of hair, HELP!?

My cat has been losing large clumps of his hair on a daily basis now for about 3 - 6 months at first i thought maybe the weather but i am not to sure now. does anyone have any suggestions on this?

My Cat is losing alot of hair, HELP!?

hmmmm... first thing to do is take the cat to the vet to rule out any underlaying medical condition that may be causing this chronic loss of hair. Second, if I were you, I would seriously consider a special diet for this cat... do some on-line research on different cat foods formulated for cats with allergies. I recommend Natural Balance "Venison and Peas." I have heard accounts of pets showing symptoms just like your cat - and it is caused by food allergy and/or build-up of toxins related to grain and grain products in many pet foods.

My Cat is losing alot of hair, HELP!?

take her to the vet!!!

My Cat is losing alot of hair, HELP!?

see a vet-could be something non-threatening-allergies... or something very serious.. if there were any major changes shortly before this started-i.e.-moving, gaining or losing housemate, animal death or new pet-then it could just be stress- take to the vet to be sure.

My Cat is losing alot of hair, HELP!?

Take the cat to the vet. The cat may have developed a skin dieases or having nutritional problems. This is definatly a problem that you need to get solved like... yesterday

My Cat is losing alot of hair, HELP!?

Your cat could be very stressed out. Any changes in his environment lately? Or he could be allergic to something, like fleas, most common allergy. Also have you changed the type of food he eats? Take your cat to the vet, if it doesn't stop.

Also have you seen the cat tearing its own fur out? or is it just falling out? Does it have long hair or short? If it is long hair probably it is shedding for the summer, however they don't shed in clumps. So it is probably an allergy or the cat is stressed out for some reason.

My Cat is losing alot of hair, HELP!?

Don't wait anymore and get your cat to the vet. It could be an allergy problem, or a thyroid problem. You've given it more than enough time. You need to get your cat in right away.

My Cat is losing alot of hair, HELP!?

I do not think its normal for a cat to lose hair at all. I had one cat who did lose her hair from her mid body down her back legs and it was because she had a hideous case of fleas that we couldn't get rid of.(at least that's the reason the vet gave us) Finally the fleas were eradicated and her hair grew back. The vet said that the fleas had caused her hair to fall out due to a reaction to their bite. I've never seen this on other animals with fleas before or since

This same cat died about a year later of cancer in her throat. Poor thing. I sure miss her. I had owned her for 10 years.

It makes me wonder to this day if it was the cancer that caused her hair to come out.

I hope this may have helped.

My Cat is losing alot of hair, HELP!?

There are a lot of reasons why your cat could be losing hair, and some of them are contagious to humans. Take her to the vet right away.

My Cat is losing alot of hair, HELP!?

Pour hot water on him.

I'm a 15 year old girl and I'm losing my hair!?

I'm a healthy 15 year old girl with very, very fine hair and for some reason i'm losing WAY too much of it! When it started we (my parents and I) thought it was iron related because i was a vegitarian so i began to eat meat again and it stopped for a little bit but nows it's happening again?? Any other tips on how to keep extremely fine hair healthy would be appreacitated

I know its normal to lose about 100 hairs a day or something like that, but i'm losing more than that...

I'm a 15 year old girl and I'm losing my hair!?

If you think it is iron related you should go to the doctors because you could be anaemic. It isnt a serious problem and can be easily cured with iron tablets.

I'm anaemic, its really hard to tell you have it.. do you get bruises easily and are worn out easily?

To keep fine hear healthy try not to brush it as much, use a comb more than a brush and dont wash your hair everyday as you could be washing away some of your hairs natural oils and minerals.

Hope thats a help,

Becky x

I'm a 15 year old girl and I'm losing my hair!?

1. Treat local cause like seborrhoic dermatitis or dandruff. Thinking it to be some fungal infection (Tinea Capitis), Nizoral shampoo might help. Use it daily 2-3 days then biweekly and then weekly.

2. Take vitamins and minerals.

Good luck!

I'm a 15 year old girl and I'm losing my hair!?

i have the same issue, but mine is due to ovarian troubles. if you dont have regular periods, maybe you should see your doctor and have a hormone screen run. sounds like it started happening all of a suddun, which makes me think hormonal issues.

I'm a 15 year old girl and I'm losing my hair!?

yes i am losing alo ttoo and i am only 12!! i dont know why this is happening but i hope you and i both stop this soon..

I'm a 15 year old girl and I'm losing my hair!?

In addition to ovarian and other female issues, a thyroid problem can have hair loss as a symptom. This needs to be evaluated by your doctor to see what they think is going on.

Why is my pitbull losing its hair?

I have a one year old pit bull and its losing its lower back hair, almost were her tail is at. Looks like shes going bald.

Why is my pitbull losing its hair?

Give her a once over for fleas. My dogs did same thing and it was a major flea issue. Also, could be that if skin is flaking on thinhaired spots, her food may need changed. It may be that she doesn't "need" the expensive brands, sometimes more is less. My pit lives on a mountain top w/me and in her case, we made sure she had chicken drippings and/ or bacon drippings once a week. (Also, you can rub either drippings off your fingers, onto her affected skin, she'll try to lick it, but if you keep an eye on her, and go out to play, it will have a head start to healing. Mange is also possible, but has signifigantly obvious "patches".

Keep on loving that wiggly girl, for a lifetime of love in return!!! Luv, "Bling's" Mommy

Why is my pitbull losing its hair?

First take her to a vet to see if there is a medical problem. Also what are you feeding her? Our pets need quality pet food. Read the ingredients list and learn what the stuff on there is and what it does (or does not do) to/for our pets. A quick pet food 101. If the pet food contains corn/corn products or by products it is a poor quality food. Do not pay attention to advertising, they all say there food is great. Corn is a filler that can trigger skin problems. (allergies, skin problems, itching and excessive shedding) By products is anything from an animal not fit for human consumption, including cancerous tissue. Quality foods have meat as the first ingredient. California Natural, Solid Gold, Innova and Merrick are a few of the best brands available. Why is my pitbull losing its hair?

Hair loss can be due to a number of things, fleas, ring worm, hot spot, skin allergies, poor diet, stress and even boredom.

Best advice take your baby to the vet to have it properly diagnosed, you may have to put an e-collar on her until the problem is under control.

Good luck!!

Why is my pitbull losing its hair?

My black lab/shepherd mix was loosing his hair. We took him to the vet and it turned out that it was his thyroid. It was a simple blood test that the vet gave him. Now he's on thyroid medicine, but his hair has grown back and doesn't lose it anymore.

Why is my pitbull losing its hair?

This happened to my female pitbull also, it can happen for a number of reasons, just keep your eye out for anything unusuall like, enlarged nipples (meaning shes pregnant), if she just had puppys, change in weather, if she is nipping or biting herself, just watch for anything unusual, dont worry it will grow back though.

Hey, ive got a guinea pig and i feel she may be losing hair on her back, is there anything i can do

Vitamin C is good, but the vet needs to tell you how much, mine said the labels are often incorrect and cautions against using too much. My Guinea has a skin problem right now, it is still undiagnosed after months, but her hair is falling out and scabs are forming. Go to the vet, they can give you stronger supplements and special shampoos if needed.

Hey, ive got a guinea pig and i feel she may be losing hair on her back, is there anything i can do ?

Make sure she has PLENTY of Vitamin C

Hey, ive got a guinea pig and i feel she may be losing hair on her back, is there anything i can do ?

take her to the vetttt

Hey, ive got a guinea pig and i feel she may be losing hair on her back, is there anything i can do ?

Have you tried microwaving your straw for a minute? It could be that it has dust mites in the straw.

Hey, ive got a guinea pig and i feel she may be losing hair on her back, is there anything i can do ?

either shes catching her back on a shelter etc or she could have mites, so wash her in some antibacterial shampoo that you can get from your local pets store. Or she could have scurvy, so make sure shes getting enough vitamin c in her diet. check all these things and if she doesn't improve in a week or so then take her to the vets:) good luck!

Hey, ive got a guinea pig and i feel she may be losing hair on her back, is there anything i can do ?

if there is a red ring where the patch is it s down to mites, if not and she has cage mates its caused by barbering, hard to say without seeing it.

You need to take her to the vet :)

Why is my dog losing her hair?Medicines arent helping!?

My dog is an older Border Terrier mix.She doesnt know shes old though lol.

About a month ago,she started losing a small amount of hair from the inner parts of her front and back legs. There are small red scabs also..I looked it up and decided to try some anti fungal shampoo.

Along with that i used Calm Coat and Sulfodene.I also bathed her with flea and tick shampoo in case she had fleas.None of this has helped. It has spread to her body now.

Does anyone know of any medicines that have worked well for you?If it doesn't get better soon I'm going to take her to the vet but first i want to see if theres anything else out there.

Thanks sooo much!!

Why is my dog losing her hair?Medicines arent helping!?

She needs to see a vet for a skin scraping.

Why is my dog losing her hair?Medicines arent helping!?

You must first take her to the Vet where he can accurately diagnose what it is. Then, he/she will prescribe the correct medication and dosage.

Please quit experimenting on her with different 'cures'.

Why is my dog losing her hair?Medicines arent helping!?

I'd take her to the vet now. She may have mange or some other kind of parasite causing her to lose her hair. Don't wait until it's out of control, go see the vet now.

Why is my dog losing her hair?Medicines arent helping!?

She's old and going bald. Try a wig.

Why is my dog losing her hair?Medicines arent helping!?

Food allergy - food elimination trial

Atopy allergy -( allergic to things in environment ) May need antihistamine and steriod.

For both of the above try omega 3%26amp; 6 oil into diet.

Parasite such as scarpotic/demodex - skin scraping

Fungal infection - skin scraping

Secondary bacterial infection - antibiotics

Staph infection - antibiotics.

Could be more complicated though I doubt it such as cushings disease or hypothyroidism (underactive thyroid). Usually hair loss seen on back and tail with these diseases not on belly.

Could be autoimmune disease.

Why is my dog losing her hair?Medicines arent helping!?

when dogs get old they can easily get depresed and when they get depresed there hair falls out you need ta try an spend more time with her an then she should be fine hope a helped and Medicines are stupid they dont work there jus fake trust me there are if ya buy 1 more border terrier mix she should be okay thats if the others dont work or try a vet they would and should work i`d say sumthins eatin away at her fur i`d takeher to the vet everone here is talkin crape

Why is my dog losing her hair?Medicines arent helping!?

My 16 year-old dog started losing fur from his face and he was scratching a lot. Took him to the vet and the upshot is that he (Dudley, not the vet) has the equivalent of athlete's foot (athlete's face?). It is a fungal problem and ketoconazole was prescribed. Dudley is improving by leaps and bounds - although at 16 he doesn't leap and bound quite so much as he used to - the fur is growing back and he doesn't scratch. The vet also prescribed prednisone to help control the allergies. The vet also recommended flax seed oil, so now Dudley has a squirt of that twice a day on his food. His eating hasn't slowed down, so I guess he likes it.

Prednisone does make him drink more and, of course, pee more.

All of this to say that if it's not fleas, it might be a fungal thing that cannot be controlled topically.

Why is my dog losing her hair?Medicines arent helping!?

It could be fleas, although this is an unusual area to get hair loss. You haven't used any products that are going to kill fleas you see - store bought products do NOT work. You need a proper treatment from a vets, like Frontline. Stores aren't licensed to sell proper flea treatment, so don't waste your money on the stuff.

Can I just say, when your animal has a problem that you don't know what it is, a vets should be your first stop. There's just no point looking up stuff online and trying to self-diagnose, you don't know WHAT crap you're reading online. Also, proper treatments for anything aren't available in stores - pet stores are good for food, toys and accessories, but they do not sell medication, just junk that pretends to be medication. So make a vet appointment now if you actually want to find out what's going on!
