I think my pugs sick. losing hair profusely and has a scabby thing on his belly. [pic links]?
Take your dog to the vet. If there's obviously something wrong than why hesitate? If he's losing hair and has scabs it might be an infection or diet problem. But, take him to the vet and they'll be able to help him for sure. :]

Could be an allergy of some sort.. Call your vet and talk to them..

Not to sure, Im not a vet, but just taking a guess I would say it is an allergy to something, could be fleas? have you changed foods? did you use any different kinds of floor cleaners or laundry detergent, fabric softener? I would make an appt. with your vet and have him checked out, Very Cute Puppy!!!!

I would just take him to the vet. He might just have a food allergy and the scab could be from him scratching. My cat had a food allergy as i feed her the same food for years and the can develop them that way. She was losing hair i took her to the vets and they gave her anti depressants that didn't work which ithought was stupid to begin with. If you are really concerned and it gets worse it would be better to just take him in.

Cute Pug! I didn't see a picture of the scabby thing on his belly - the only link that held a pix was the first one. However, it could be anything - ringworm, hot spot or demodex mange.
The vet will know for sure. Pugs are notorious for demodex mange - I think it's a mite and lives on all dogs but for some reason or another it seems to pop up on Pugs more so.
The vet will either take a scraping (if he thinks it's demodex) or pull some hairs (if he thinks it ringworm) or shave the area if it's a hot spot. Then he'll give you whatever it is that's needed to clear up the infection.
The demodex mange cannot be caught by humans ... neither can the hotspot. However, ringworm is a different story.
Whatever it is, you do need to get your Pug to the vet to make sure.
Good luck!
